It's The End Of The World...And I Feel Fine

Well...the 21st has come (and gone). No aliens. No meteors. No cataclysmic tsunamis. Though personally I was hoping for aliens. However, we have turned the corner. WE being a very interesting word to use. I'll leave it quite broad and let YOU insert as you wish. :)

As we reflect on the year that's been and the year to come a repetitive theme comes to mind. Which is that next year is the year...the year we get bigger, faster, stronger, better. When in truth this is the case (at least I plan on it!). Personally I know this year has been surreal. 2 new aFeinberg Galleries have opened (Poipu and St. Regs-Princeville). I was able to capture images all over northern California and made an epic pilgrimage to Burning Man in the desert. The question then becomes, how is it even possible to top that next year!? And THAT my friends...is the fun part...finding out :)

Thank you all so much for joining me on this crazy journey and look forward to sharing the experience that we call life with you.

Happy Holidays and have a GREAT New Year!!

"Old Orchard"

On my way south after spending time up near Acadia and for my sister's wedding I wanted to stop at Old Orchard Beach to check out this cool pier I saw a photo of. In true Maine fashion it was crazy foggy and drizzly. Perfect :) We don't have ground fog in Hawaii (too warm), so it was a great change of pace. After shooting from the side of the pier I ventured under for what I knew was my goal for the afternoon. Took some experimenting before I slapped on my very dark filter and found my spot...some lucky guessing to frame the comp as it was impossible to see through the filter and I couldn't stay there long as the mist would have made it difficult. Run, plop down, shoot for 3 min, brace against the waves washing up and get freaked out as they came down the pier, back up and clean the filter, go again. Did this about 3 or 4 times and hoped I got an exposure that I was happy with. Luckily there was one. :)
