Portchester/Lidl Project

Work on the site of a new store for Lidl (UK) is now nearing completion.

The three week contract involved the safe removal and disposal of an asbestos cement roof
followed by the demolition of the main building.

The site has been derelict for a while and last hit the headlines when it was raided by police who discovered a large cannabis growing operation.

Purple Rain

Not quite. However purple is the colour of the site hoarding at Basingstoke. The new building will be a Premier Inn and the hoarding has to be in the correct shade of purple.

Lenny Henry has not yet shown up but subject to him having a valid CSCS card we can give him a start if he wants one.

It has to be said that looking at his official website 2014 looks like being a bit quiet for our Len. Stranger things have happened – could this be the next reality TV format?
