WHY have alumni STARS? [Aren't we Type A enough?]
Documenting a broad portfolio of alumni accomplishments will 1) share alumni news, 2) inspire current TJ students, and 3) communicate the value of a TJ education to the broader community.
At a recent open house, 7th and 8th graders interested in TJ asked alumni if the school had sports/music/drama programs and wondered how TJ would prepare them for diverse careers. Showcasing alumni who are successful in many fields can show prospective students that TJ is a great foundation for any career. Corporations considering donating to TJ sometimes ask about alumni accomplishments in academia, technology, research, government and military service, and entrepreneurship. Documenting our alumni achievements can help prove TJ's value.
Nominate yourself (don't be bashful!) or your classmates for any notable accomplishments from any time since leaving TJ. We will celebrate all of our achievements -- this is NOT about judging who is the "most awesome" alum, which is impossible. After nominations, alumni will vote for the most intriguing achievement that they want to learn more about.
