Love or Fear?

I came to think of an interesting phenomenon (ok, I admit, have been thinking about it for long and it was again splashed at my face so had to make it really concrete this time).

I have been learning energy healing techniques aside my health coaching, and still continuing on this incredibly interesting path. I have learned for example, that fear has as powerful way of attracting things towards yourself as love. I started thinking if this is applied in the context of positive and negative thinking as well.

I was in a tennis court playing doubles, and our opponent pair was losing. Other one of them said out loud that "things can get better", with a happy voice. The other was saying that "sorry, I am not a positive person, I am a pessimist, sorry to say". Well, they improved, and the "happy one" was saying or was it me, that "see, it was worth believing", and the reply was hesitantly, almost quietly that "well, we did it anyway, despite my disbelief".

That was what hit my brain and it vigorously started processing again this issue.

Is it necessary to protect yourself from hoping for or believing in something good? Is it about daring and taking a risk? Or what is it?

Is it of not putting yourself out there vulnerable, expect the best for you self, and in case something good turns out, it can be perceived only luck then, not that you would deserve it as you are ?

I have learned also that you get what you see. If there was not 3 other of us in the game talking, that one person could have missed that they actually improved a lot, and she might have thought that they did not win anyway, as expected. Hmm. That would have supported her belief system then. Which way was she happier?

One person was saying to me that she always needs to prepare for the worst, otherwise she cannot function. So in order to travel, she needs to think of the worst case scenarios first, to feel that everything can succeed after that. What does that mean?

We people are quite funny in our programs of controlling our universe, with our survival mechanisms and belief systems. They are rooted so deep it is sometimes impossible even to recognize them without other person's help or insight. We choose not to be vulnerable because it is scary. On the other hand if we do not expose ourselves, we cannot feel fully the warmth and the good and the love there is in the world and universe.

How would your life be, if you threw your wildest dream to the universe, took first step to start accomplishing it and expected only the best to happen? Would that be scary or could it be liberating?

What is your dream?

I wish you all the fantastic dream-full Christmas time and peace in your hearts. Enjoy the candles, fire place, mulled wine, excellent food and love that is surrounding you.

Food Focus: Root vegetables

The roots of any plant are its anchor and foundation; they are the essential parts that support and nourish the plant. Root vegetables lend these properties to us when we eat them, making us feel physically and mentally grounded and rooted, increasing our stability, stamina and endurance. Roots are a rich source of nutritious complex carbohydrates, providing a steady source of necessary sugars to the body. Instead of upsetting blood sugar levels like refined sweet foods, they regulate them. Since they absorb, assimilate and supply plants with vital nutrients, roots likewise increase absorption and assimilation in our digestive tracts.

Long roots, like carrots, parsnips and daikon radish, are excellent blood purifiers and can help improve circulation in the body and increase mental clarity. Round roots, like turnips, radishes, beets and rutabagas, are nourishing to the stomach, spleen, pancreas and reproductive organs and can help regulate blood sugar and moods, and alleviate cravings.

Christmas and winter time is a great time to include these in the meals to ensure stamina during cold days.

Recipe of the month: Shaman's crispy bread

This recipe is from a soul brother of mine, and it is just excellent with pure butter on top!

Ingredients (Preferable ecological):

1,5 dl sesame seeds
1,5 dl linseeds
1 dl pumpkin seeds (peeled)
1 dl sunflower seeds (natural, no salt)
1 dl minced almonds
1 dl grinded coconut
1 dl precooked quinoa
1,5 dl flour (from rice, buck or millet)
1 dl raisins
10 dried apricots (shred them thin with a knife)
1 pinch of salt
Spices (fennel, caraway, cinnamon for example)
7,5 dl water (boiling)

Prepare two oven plates covered with greaseproof paper
Mix all the ingredients, except from the apricots and raisins in a bowl.
Boil the water together with apricots and raisins.
Pour the boiling water over the other ingredients and mix well for five minutes.
Spread the paste as soon as you are done mixing, on to the plates and leave to rest for half an hour.
Mark squares with a knife and put into the oven, 125 degrees.
Bake for one hour. Make sure the bread does not burn, move around the plates if necessary.
Lover the temperature to 75 degrees and bake for another hour.
Lover the temperature to 50 degrees, remove the grease proof paper and turn the bread up side down, and leave to dry with the oven door slightly open. You can leave it like this over night.

This bread is also suitable for drying. Exclude the boiling water if you want to make it “rawfood”.

Suggestions.
Try this recipe with different spices, olives, shredded carrots, sundried tomatoes, sprouts or such.
