Dear Parents,
From my office I can hear the sounds of cajoling, screaming, and laughing as students take advantage of the day's snow by riding sleds (and other creative devices) down the hill behind Amos Hall.
I talk a lot about the energy of this place, but these kids literally don't stop and are loving every minute of it. I sat in on Elizabeth Roach and Emily Pressman's Humanities class this week as their VI Form students provided self-critiques of their final papers on Junot Diaz's The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. I wish I could have taken you all there to watch as Elizabeth and Emily, pushed, coached, and challenged, while the students engaged in thoughtful self-reflection you would normally expect from students twice their age. You could literally fast forward 10 years and imagine them defending their PhD dissertations, or the latest financial forecast, or their 20-page brief.
The boys basketball team is ranked #1, the musical and play are roaring forward to performances, and we are welcoming one of the most respected scientists in the world to campus tonight. It's a great time to be a Saint.
All the best,
Will Robinson '97
