Don’t forget, you can always recycle with us those used strawberry clam shells, egg cartons and mason jars when you visit us at Hise Farms or at the Rockledge Gardens Farmers Market. Lets keep them out of the land-fill be recycling them again.

Valentine's Berries!

Looking for those “Long Stem Beauties” for Valentine’s Day? Hise Farms will be open Wednesday (13th) and Thursday (14th) for Valentine’s Day pick-ups. You can pick up berries at 5465 Areca Palm St or call 321-403-1428 for more information. We will be picking fresh every day so you will never find our berries pre-refrigerated. Stop by and see how we grow them to be able to harvest with the long stems, perfect for dipping and display. Don't pay $12 per pound for long-stem, non-local berries at Publix!

Dairy "CSA" Update

We are about to make our quota for our first CSA milk order. If anyone else is interested, please email Mary at HiseFarmsBerries@aol.com . This dairy has been in operation for 3 generations and they have “Grass-happy” cows who roam wide open pastures for quality milk products. We will be sending out information to those of you who have shown interest in the coming week.

Heirloom Vegetable and Edible Plant Sale

February 22-23, 10:00am - 3:00pm at Hise Farms

Join us next Friday or Saturday at Hise Farms for our annual spring heirloom vegetable plant sale! We'll have our famous varieties of heirloom tomato plants along with other veggie starts like cucumbers, lettuce, Seminole Pumpkin squash, okra, zucchini, and more! We'll also have seed packets for many other plants.

In addition to the vegetable plants we'll have herbs, fig trees, peach and plum trees, blueberry and blackberry plants, and more. We'll have other gardening amendments like mushroom compost, gardening gloves, and more!

FloriMulch Now In Stock

We have some extra FloriMulch that is now available for sale by the bag at Hise Farms. You can purchase the mulch on Saturdays from 10-3. The price per bag is $3.80 INCLUDING sales tax.

Monthly Events and Community Activities

Join us February 24th, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at Rockledge Gardens for an evening celebrating our community's connection to local farmers, producers, and chefs who appreciate the benefits of local food. We will feature hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer pairings, music, and a hayride tour of The Farm at Rockledge Gardens. Cuisine courtesy of Merritt's Table and the Palm Tree Cafe.

All proceeds will be donated to the Children's Hunger Project of Brevard.

Cost of the ticket includes hors d'oeurves and a glass of wine. A cash bar is available as well.

Please feel free to bring us the following for re-use:

Egg cartons!
If you have used and unwanted plastic mini blinds, we can re-purpose them so bring them in too!
strawberry clamshells (larger, pound size only)
nursery pots, trays
mason (canning) jars, and sauce/fruit jars that say mason or ball
