The word that best describes our lives right now is "tornado!" We are spinning in so many different directions that it's hard to know where to even begin. Wowza!
But it's all good, because Janice will eventually have a beautiful and spacious new kitchen and Liz will eventually have a beautiful and spacious new kitchen to cook in when she works at Janice's house. Janice just posted a video of her kitchen renovation project to our YouTube channel, so check it out. It's quite hilarious, and it's quite clear Janice could use a one-week spa getaway! But alas, that may not happen any time soon ... and Janice may still be looking at a few more months of washing dishes in her bathtub.
In the meantime, we have lots of exciting things to share with all of you including, but by no means limited to, the following:
A new recipe for a Better Blueberry Buckle. This old fashioned dessert gets a makeover with whole grains, ground flaxseed, canola oil, yogurt, and omega-3 eggs. It's one of those "desserts" that can also double as a snack or breakfast.
Liz recently made a cameo appearance on an infomercial for the new Ninja Cooking System. Don't be surprised if she pops up on your TV screen this fall. We're loving the Ninja and are giving one away on our blog. Read on for the yummy details.
A few weeks ago, we recorded the 200th episode of our weekly radio podcast, Cooking with the Moms. To celebrate, we invited our friends, the Manic Mommies, to join us on the show. Erin and Kristin inspired us to start the podcast, so we thought it was fitting to have them on as guests. Tune in for lots of laughs.
We don't know about you, but there's nothing better than a night out with great friends, and recently, Liz broke out of her usual suburban routine for a Friday night pasta-making cooking class. You can read all about her fun, carefree culinary adventure on our blog. Feel free to comment on the post and share some of your favorite girl's-night-out adventures (just keep it clean folks)!!
Did you grow a vegetable garden this summer? Can you top this garden, grown and nurtured by Janice's friend, Mo? Let us know...
