ELVA Newsletter - May 2012

The April Newsletter was the last hurray for the ELVA gathering at Watkins Glen and this was a real success despite the very 'British' weather which tried very hard to scupper the whole event. Feedback has included...

"In spite of the bad weather, everyone had a good time and the Elva owners loved the event and the research centre. Janos Wimpffen and Berdie Martin had an audience of about 95 attendees for their talk."

"It went SPECTACULARLY - only down side was that the weather turned awful just as the Elvas arrived. The talk was a hit and Berdie was a hoot."

"I had a really great time despite the 'humid' conditions. It was great to finally put faces on so many familiar names. Many thanks to the staff of the IMRRC for their hospitality."

We echo our sincere appreciation to Michael Argetsinger and all at the IMRRC who were such fine hosts. Thank you.

From karting and performance driving, to golf and trap shooting, many visitors come to race and stay for an entire adventure experience.

And at the end of the day, luxury amenities and facilities, like high-end spa treatments and gourmet dining, lend to relaxation among the beautiful rolling hills of Southern Virginia and the historic VIRginia International Raceway.

VIR Courier (SVRA Meeting)

So this will be the 'end of season' spectacular ELVA gathering at this superb circuit; there will be special facilities for all Elva attendees, great race opportunities, parade laps for ELVA cars and of course an "ALL ELVA RACE".

You will be able to display your car in a dedicated ELVA area of the paddock and enjoy all the amazing facilities that VIR has on offer. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!

Open to all cars built by ELVA from the Mk.1 thru to the McLaren-Elva era, plus of course all the Courier variants and hopefully lots of Formula Junior participation too. I anticipate that there will be at least one GT160, so lots to see and much to enjoy. Time will pass quickly, so please make contact with any questions and express your interest by email to Jack Woehrle at VIR (jackwoehrle@aol.com).

A lot more information will follow and a range of special ELVA regalia will be produced. Meanwhile do please get involved. Let us know what you would like to see at the latest ELVA gathering.
