SOMETHING IS HAPPENING!!!

A group of missionaries from Texas, who call themselves Ninth Hour and are some of our best friends, have a huge heart for the youth of Belgium. They have been helping put together a big youth event every month, called Explosion. Once a month they gather all the youth groups in the area or youth, as many churches do not even have a youth group, and through worship and teaching they are able to connect with God. The momentum that has come from these services has now spread to the Netherlands! About a year ago this movement inspired some youth leaders in Amsterdam to do something similar in their area. As a result, they have also seen a momentum being built and excitement to go after God in the young people. This past month they decided to do a combined event and it was so powerful to see! Something is truly stirring in the young people of Brussels and Amsterdam.

This is also a confirmation to start a discipleship school here at this time. Hearts are being stirred and are hungry. It’s cool to see how God is preparing this generation to receive more and we are so excited!

THIS PAST MONTH WE HAVE HAD SOME GREAT VISITORS...

We have been experiencing such a deep need for “workers” and have been praying, like this verse says, for the Lord to send out workers. Jessica and Nicholas Lusk are a couple who is answering this call. They came to spend a few days with us to learn more about Master’s Commission. They have spent the last 3 years teaching English in South Korea and now feel His leading to join missionaries Steve and Patty Gray, in Padova, Italy, to start a Master’s Commission there. It was so great to connect with them and their heart for discipleship, as well as discuss plans for the future program there. They will be spending the year in the US to raise support and hope to be back in Italy by summer of 2013. Please pray for this family as they share their vision and for all the preparations for a discipleship school to form in Italy.

We also had a few days with some great friends from Spain who are praying about their next step and want to be involved with discipleship in Europe as well. Please pray for them also and for God’s plans to be made clear to them.

It is exciting to see a passion burning to invest in this generation.

Last week, a team from Christ’s Place, Lincoln, Nebraska took their second trip to their adopted community of Leova, Moldova.

Community Event :
Charleroi, Belgium
On Saturday, May 12th, 2012, thirty-five churches from around Charleroi, Belgium joined together for an historic one-day event to promote unity and solidarity for this area. In a park in the city center, which carries the stigma of a troubled past, the locals were met with the sights, sounds and smells of a joyous, family-oriented gathering.

Community Event :
Zlatograd, Bulgaria
On the 12th of May, 2012, Convoy of Hope Europe hosted a community event in Zlatograd, Bulgaria. Local organizations sent materials to help with the outreach, doctors and optometrists chipped in for medical checkups and well-known Christian singers from Bulgaria’s X-Factor equivalent show agreed to do an afternoon concert.

▪ Pray for lives to be touched through the Convoy of Hope events going on in Albania, Denmark, Spain and Ireland
