Chisum's Annual Patent Law Digest Expands to Cover America Invents Act; Detailed First-Inventor-to-File Coverage at February NYC Seminar

Since 1991, the Chisum Patent Academy’s co-founder Donald Chisum has authored an annual paperbound publication, the Patent Law Digest. The Digest provides topic-indexed abstracts of precedential Federal Circuit and Supreme Court patent-related decisions in a convenient and economical single-volume format.

The new 2012 edition of the Digest significantly expands this content. In addition to case law abstracts, the Digest now includes the America Invents Act of 2011: Analysis and Cross-References, a 175-page section-by-section analysis of the AIA and its Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) implementing rules. The table of contents and ordering information for electronic or hardcopy versions of the Digest are available from the publisher here.

Chisum, along with Academy co-founder Janice Mueller, will cover the important first-inventor-to-file (FITF) provisions of the AIA and soon-to-be adopted PTO guidelines and rules at the Academy's upcoming advanced patent law seminar in New York City on February 20-22, 2013. This coverage is particularly timely given the FITF implementation date of March 16, 2013. The New York seminar will also address patent claim interpretation, active inducement (particularly in the context of multi-actor method claims), preliminary injunctions and design patents, and inequitable conduct decisions post-Therasense. The three-day seminar offers 18 CLE credits in a uniquely interactive, roundtable format limited to ten participants. To register, visit the Academy's website or email info@chisum.com.
