Hi there! This week, Studiopress released a new theme called Parallax Pro.* It's got that cool scrolling-at-different-speeds thing going on. (Other lovely Genesis themes released recently are Foodie and Enterprise Pro.) Also this week, Kat and I talked about email newsletters. PicMonkey got a new design and Facebook launched their new app called Paper. Will it be a game-changer? We'll see...

1. Virtual jobs at Upworthy

You may be familiar with the highly-shared posts and videos from Upworthy. As I write, they are looking for people to work for them virtually. One of the open positions is Curator which might be a good fit if you're a ninja at finding cool stuff online. (I'm not connected to Upworthy in any way, but I know many of you are interested in working from home, so I thought I'd pass it along.)

2. Calls to action on Instagram

If you're running a promotion of any sort, consider putting a call to action right in your Instagram (or Pinterest) image instead of just the image description. Harder to miss that way! Use an app like Over to easily add text to images.

3. Is your copyright current?

Do you have a copyright date in your site's footer? Is it current? Unless it's coded to update automatically, make sure it says 2014. Just a small way to make your site look fresh and current!

4. Use little-known holidays for more posting content

Posts that coincide with the holidays are always popular, but there are a lot more holidays than the main ones. It's not the prettiest site, but Brownielocks compiles lists of every imaginable holiday. Just click on a month and you'll have blogging or social media fodder almost every single day of the year!

5. Miss anything?

I shared what I've learned in my new post Blogging Taxes: 8 Tips. Oh, and you know that Mac Bundle? It's still available!
