Dear SAS Families,
We have something for everyone in this incredibly busy week and I hope you read, scroll, and click through it all.

I will get you started by highlighting four videos from the past week:

The first is the livestream broadcast of this week's boys basketball win against Friends complete with student commentary and interviews.
The second features Paul Egan '13 leading The Noxontones in a performance during School Meeting this week.
The third is the start of a catalog of short speeches on excellence given by members of the VI Form at Tad's encouragement.
I am unable to explain the fourth video.

Tad also wrote a great piece about the education of boys this week prompted by a recent New York Times Opinion piece entitled "The Boys at the Back" by Christina Hoff Sommers. You can find the piece and his response on our blog.

Sincerely,
Will Robinson '97

Students Take Over Nation's Capitol

This year's all-school Washington, D.C. trip offered an incredibly diverse menu of cultural and educational opportunities. The IV and III Forms began their day at the National Holocaust Memorial Museum and Arlington National Cemetery, respectively, before having the chance to explore museums or join any of the twelve organized excursions.

Students elected to take VIP tours of:
The Pentagon, Capitol Hill, the State Department, the Department of Justice, Change.org, Jefferson Waterman International, Georgetown Medical Center, Corcoran College of Art and Museum, Bloomberg TV, the U.S. Senate Minority Leadership, the Pew Research Center, and the Department of Energy. Thank you to the many parents who helped make these tours possible!
