PTO Meeting & Volunteer Get Together!

Join Us PTO Meeting

We are shortening our regular PTO Meeting this month to host our Volunteer Get Together!

If you filled out a "Green Form" indicating areas you'd be interested in helping out with, come meet the Coordinators of those areas and get plugged in! If you didn't fill out a form, but are interested in helping with things like Restaurant Nights, Social Events, Technology, Fundraisers, etc...PLEASE JOIN US! Look forward to seeing you there!

When: Tuesday, Sep 10th

PTO Meeting Time: 6:30pm - 7pm

Volunteer Get Together: 7pm - 8pm

Volunteer In Paradise (VIP) Program

Volunteer In Paradise

The new Volunteer in Paradise (VIP) program in the Paradise Valley
Unified School District is coming to two of our PV schools, Mercury Mine and North Ranch, in the 2013-14 school year!

The program is looking for dedicated, high-quality volunteers from the community. Do you know someone who might be interested?

VIP volunteers will provide one-on-one and small group instruction to
children in grades K-6. Volunteers will be paired with teachers based on their interests and schedules, and will receive the training they need to become effective, confident tutors.

At the September Special Ed meeting, the featured speaker of the evening will be Dr. William Mobley, the psychologist at Horizon High School. The topic of his talk will be What Parents Need to Know About Bullying. He will discuss the current trends in bullying, talk about what parents can do to identify problems and support their children, and what the school can and cannot do. He will also talk about programs PVUSD has adopted, as well as other interventions for school and the workplace. ”
