Campus Security: Broadening the Discussion

Regardless of one's stance on arming URI campus police, other steps are necessary to reduce the risk of violence and help community members feel secure.

Toward that end, this forum, organized by the Faculty Senate Executive Committee and the offices of the President and Provost, addresses three crucial components of campus security: training in nonviolent resolution, counseling and interventions to address mental health issues, and emergency preparation and protocols. The goal is to solicit input on solutions for a comprehensive approach to non-violence and safety at URI. This forum will be streamed on URI Live.
