The Ballplayer
Summertime is the perfect time to play ball, whether it's a quick 'pick up' game during a lunch break or a late afternoon or evening game.
Mitchell Hartman's image of The Ballplayer, from the series 'Fragments II' illustrates the fast action and movement of the game within the framework of the still image.
Cyclist
Cypress
The images from Tami Bone's series, 'Mythos', were inspired from her youth. She grew up in South Texas, as a young curious girl....with lots of questions about who she is and where she came from.
Nightfall
Two Portraits
Fran Forman is quite an accomplished artist! She has studied art and sociology and received a Master of Fine Arts. She has been involved in the arts, graphic arts and web design for years and is currently a Resident Scholar in Women's Studies at Brandeis University.
A selection of Fran's photographs are included in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
I am happy to welcome Fran and her work to the gallery. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do and agree that it is whimsical at times, thoughtful and provocative.
Floating Urn
At the Window
For being one of the newest artists and living far away in the northern hills of the UK, Deborah Parkin's quiet imagery has already achieved considerable attention by being exhibited at the Fox Talbert Museum in Lacock Abbey and on the other side of the world, in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, this new, young and very successful artist has already had several books published on her work! I've said it before, Deborah Parkin is one to watch and certainly is a rising star!
Rabbit
Carousel II, from Before The Maddening Crowd
Extremely talented and not afraid to experiment with multiple mediums, Jim Collum is currently producing pigment prints that have been coated with platinum, producing hybrid Platinum over Pigment prints.
In addition, Jim produces pigment, hand-coated platinum and traditional silver gelatin prints.
With summertime in full swing, and Jim's images of Amusement Parks so popular, it is no wonder that the series, 'Before the Maddening Crowd' will be shown at the Orange County Fair this summer!
Surf, Garapatta
Abandoned Herring Factory, Iceland
Tim Hyde has been a friend of the gallery for many years, but only recently joined the gallery's stable of artists. The images in this series, 'Perilous Terrain', are the result of Tim's travels to Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Nova Scotia, where he has been able to transform the desolate landscape into images which reflect the beauty of the land, no matter how remote.
"Safe House" for Shipwreck Victims, Iceland
Black Church, Faroe Islands
