Happy Halloween everyone. To get into the Halloween spirit, we've cooked up some helpful tips and recipes to satisfy your little ghosts and goblins. We also have an autumn-inspired foodie gift basket that we're giving away, so read on for the delicious details.
Before we get into the recipes, we have a teeny tiny favor to ask: We recently entered two of our recipes into a Cooking App contest, and we hope you'll vote for us by visiting the MobileSkillet Cooking App Contest board on Pinterest. Simply "Like" our recipes and Repin them; the more "Likes" and Repins we get, the closer we'll be to getting the opportunity to have our very own cooking App! The rules state that you can only like and repin a recipe ONCE, so keep that in mind. The two recipes we submitted are Mini Berry Cheesecakes and Sweet Carrot Ginger Soup. Thanks for your support!
Okay ... now onto our tips and recipes:
If you're looking for better-for-kids Halloween handout ideas, visit our website for our oh-so-helpful Healthier Halloween tip sheet. You may also want to give our Juicy Mango Wigglers a try. Our healthier, made-over "Jigglers" are always a hit at Halloween.
Pumpkin is one of our favorite ingredients, and we just used it in a dessert makeover recipe for Autumn Apple Pumpkin Cake. This dessert is perfect for family gatherings, pot lucks, and bake sales!
Speaking of orange, we shared a recipe on our blog for Roasted Butternut Squash with Lentils and Walnuts that's out of this world. We love this recipe as a side dish or a vegetarian main meal! AND, we have yet another orange-themed recipe for Orange Cauliflower Tex Mex Casserole. If you can't find orange cauliflower in your area, use the white. It's still guaranteed to be packed with great nutrition. AND, we cooked up a gorgeous heirloom squash called Rugosa, and the results were rich and flavorful.
