General Announcements

-May Grads: Apply to graduate by 3/31 - online if you are only in Liberal Arts OR in person at the LA Dean's Office in GEB 2.200 if you are a dual degree seeker or concurrently enrolled at another school.

-Summer & December Grads: Schedule your Final Degree Check with a Dean's Office advisor THIS SEMESTER. Call them at 512-471-4271 or stop by GEB 2.200.

-Walking in May: If you are graduating over the summer or in December and want to participate in the commencement ceremonies in May, sign up to 'walk' in person at the LA Dean's Office in GEB 2.220 by March 31st.

-Strategic Advising Available Now! Come in now to make a plan to graduation, then you don't have to stress out when registration comes and we get booked up! Call us at 512-471-2973 or stop by BRB to schedule your appointment.

-Q Drop and Pass/Fail Deadline is March 31st: Visit the LA Dean's Office in GEB 2.200 to Q drop or change a class to or from pass/fail.

-Econ Tutor List: Click here for the updated list of economics tutors. Hard copies of the list and more info about each tutor (fee, experience, etc.) available to review at the advising office.

-Other Tutoring Resources: Check out the tutoring available at the Sanger Learning Center and also your Supplemental Instruction sessions if you're in 304K, 304L, or 329!

About Strategic Advising

In Strategic Advising sessions, an advisor works with you to develop a plan to graduation--incorporating course selection, extracurricular opportunities, and university programs and services--tailored to your academic/career interests and goals. All Economics majors are encouraged to participate in at least one Strategic Advising session. The best time to schedule a Strategic Advising session is during sophomore year!

Advising sessions take approximately 45 minutes. Please contact our office to make an appointment- call us at 512-471-2973 or stop by in BRB.

Hunger and Homelessness Outreach (H2O) Student Org

This student group meets on a weekly basis and volunteers each Saturday morning with one non-profit. H2O has two main objectives. The first goal is to serve the hungry and homeless population of Austin while promoting poverty awareness. The second goal is to create a lifelong commitment to community service in UT students.
