When the weather man told me there was a chance of frost the other night I knew summer was officially over!! It's sad and felt way too short, but I LOVE everything about fall and am so excited to officially announce fall mini-sessions!

Mini-sessions are 20 minutes long and provide beautiful family portraits just in time for those holiday cards and gifts! Location will be either Larz Anderson or Arnold Arboretum.

Session Spotlight: It's all in the details

This summer I had so many fun family sessions, but one of my favorites was with a sweet little girl named Penny celebrating her first birthday! She was adorable, the location was beautiful, and the weather was sublime, but you know what really made the session so awesome? The details. Mom brought along a few balloons (matching tutu doesn't hurt) and letters spelling O-N-E. It was the perfect amount of cute, without being over the top.

Halfway through the session, a gorgeous afghan quilt sticking out of the diaper bag caught my eye. Turns out it was handmade by grandma. An absolutely wonderful detail to incorporate into our portraits. Penny's lovey (a doll named Annabelle) came to the session for morale support but ended up being the focal point of so many of my favorite images.

When planning for your portrait session with me, think about any items you might want to include that hold a special significance or tell a story. It doesn't have to be cheesy and can really add to the story we tell! See more of the wonderful details from Penny's session on my blog!

Community Corner

For the past three years, I've been donating my photography to Solutions at Work, which is a local organization that helps homeless and low-income people achieve self-sufficiency. Having compelling photos is such an important part of conveying the mission of any non-profit organization and it fills my heart to be able to provide this service for them.

As my relationship with Solutions @ Work grows, we are embarking on new projects together. One such project includes telling the stories of individuals who have received services from Solutions at Work and are now achieving self-sufficiency! This summer, I met with Amanda and her three daughters and spent time photographing them in their home in Roslindale. What a beautiful family and what a wonderful impact Solutions at Work has made on their lives.
