Adoption Play-Group

IMG 3399

Hello TFN Families!

My name is Anne Marie Baylouny and I’m reaching out to you as I would like to put together an adoption play-group that meets once a month! My hope is that our adopted child will form friendships with other children who were also adopted, and these friendships will be beneficial to the children as they start to understand what being adopted means.

We are in Mountain View, and willing to host indoor play-dates/picnics/days at the park and other outings. We are willing to host in different locations, Silicon Valley/San Jose/Palo Alto/Milpitas in order to include as many families as possible. Santa Cruz is a 35-40 minute drive; and Gilroy is about the same. We can decide on the location, depending on the location of those interested in participating.

Our daughter is almost 3 years old and was adopted domestically. We would love to host a wide group of children of different ages.

If you are interested, please email me and I will coordinate.

Best,
Anne Marie Baylouny

Adoptee Night with SF Giants

Giants

TFN Staff recently had the opportunity to meet Holly Choon Hyang Bachman, a Korean Adoptee, and the founder of wonderful organization called the Mixed Roots Foundation.

The Mission of Mixed Roots, is to promote and support organizations that serve as a resource to the adoptee community, create more awareness of the adoption experience, and inspire the next generation of adoptees to become leaders in the community by addressing the whole life cycle of the adoptee including focusing on five core areas of community support: science, family & health; diversity, arts & culture; education & career development; business & technology; and financial planning & philanthropy.

Mixed Roots frequently organizes fun events for adoptees and they have an upcoming event that you wont want to miss. On July 24th, they are hosting 'Adoptee Night' at the San Francisco Giants baseball game. TFN Staff plans to attend and we hope to see you there!
