Jewish Roots Seminar - Feb 2nd

The Reverend Canon Daryl Fenton will be here to host a seminar
on February 2nd. Topics include:

1. Understanding and Practicing the Biblical concept of "Sabbath Rest" An Anglican's consideration of ordering Family prayers in the shape of the Sabbath;
2. Understanding the 3 Spring Feasts (Unleavened Bread, Passover, Feast of First Fruits);
3. Is the Gospel good news? The difference between thinking of ourselves as having a "system of beliefs" to share, versus being heralds of good news.

On-site child care provided (with advanced notice).

All are invited. Lunch and Dinner provided. Time TBA.

Youth Retreat - Faith, Hope, and Love: Leading a Virtuous Life

Every year, our Diocese hosts a number of retreats and camps for the diocesan youth. Last year a group of us attended "Winter Camp" and we had a great time!

Camp is for Middle School and High School students.

Scholarships (up to 90% of the cost) are available for students from St. Mark's.

Briefly Noted:

Offering Envelopes for 2013 are available on the table in Cranmer Hall. Please find the box with your name on it. If you cannot find your name, please feel free to take an unlabelled box but be certain to record the box number next to your name (on the list).
A reception at which parishioners may meet and visit with Bishop Gillin (newly consecrated Suffragan Bishop of this diocese) will follow the service this Sunday. NOTE: All Sunday School classes (except for the adult class) meet as usual this Sunday.

On the Calendar:

Finance Committee meeting - this Sunday following the service.
Weekly Holy Communion and Bible Study - Thursday (9 am - Holy Communion; 10 am - Bible Study). All are welcome.
The Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul (January 25th) - Holy Communion at 6pm, followed by dinner at the Rectory.
Vestry Meeting - January 27th (Noon).
Annual Meeting - Sunday, February 10th immediately following the service. Please make every effort to attend. Lunch will be served.
Ash Wednesday - February 13th. Holy Communion and the Imposition of Ashes. Service times TBA.
