St. Patrick's Day is almost here, and I have some great vegan recipes at the end of the newsletter that will bring out your inner Irish.

Look for a new (to me) food to make its first appearance on my blog in an easy chili you can make in no time. That post will be up on Tuesday morning, and it's a good one.

Loki and Leo and a Box Video

I didn't have time to write a new recipe because I was chasing the cats around with a camera. Our new kitten Loki loves to play with our other rescue cat, Leo, and they can be endlessly entertaining, until Leo gets worn out and puts a loving stop to it. If you're a cat lover and you missed it, you have to check out Loki's first video.

On Slow Motion Miracle:

"What if we get better but not all the way better? What if some things remain serious issues, or something else crops up that we didn’t expect? Perhaps there’s a better way to see eating low fat, whole food and plant-based than as a cure-all that takes away all of our serious health conditions." Maria asks some tough questions and gives us some of her personal answers in Is "Significant Benefit" Enough?

A Touch of the Irish

Even though I'm only distantly Irish, I enjoy celebrating St. Patrick's Day because I love the simple foods that I think of as Irish: potatoes, cabbage, and other greens and the herbal flavors of dill, sage, and thyme. Click the photos below to see the recipes for some of my favorite Irish dishes (and a couple of "wanna be" Irish foods).

“The most significant gifts are the ones most easily overlooked. Small, everyday blessings: woods, health, music, laughter, memories, books, family, friends, second chances, warm fireplaces, and all the footprints scattered throughout our days.” ― Sue Monk Kidd
