Hi there! This week, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Allume. My other major accomplishment was being that crazy woman who ran gasping through the airport only to get to her gate and find that her plane was delayed. In other words, that near-death experience was completely unnecessary.

1. How to get quick answers to SEO questions

If you aren't familiar with him, Matt Cutts is a guy who works for Google and answers questions about search and SEO in videos. (Here's my explanation of SEO if you're new to the game.) But if you're like me and don't have time to watch the videos in their entirety and just want the short answer, check out The Short Cutts.

2. How to easily create a mailing list sign up tab in Facebook

This week I created a tab on my Facebook Page (just under the cover image) that allows people to sign up for my useletter straight away. Mad Mimi makes adding this tab simple. Just login to Mad Mimi, go to "Add Things" and turn on the Facebook Signup option then "Go set it up." Done. (If you don't use Mad Mimi or you don't know about Facebook Tabs, read How to Change the Image for Facebook Tabs.)

3. How to write a subtitle

Jon Acuff published 8 tips to writing a killer subtitle for your book this week. I especially liked tip #7: Write a subtitle that answers this: "What’s the promise of where you will take me if I read this book?" or provide "...a clear sense of the before and after." What will the reader be able to do after reading your book?

4. How to stay productive when you get interrupted

If you are prone to getting interrupted while working, Pat Flynn suggests asking yourself this question to stay on track: "When I get back, the first thing I'm going to do is ________." Smart. Listen to (or read via the trascript) the rest of his productivity tips here. Also, consider subscribing to his podcast. It's excellent.
