Dear Friend,

Happy Year of the Snake! 2013 has already been an eventful year for API leadership. From Kevin Tsujihara being named CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment and becoming the first Asian American to run a major Hollywood studio to Energy Secretary Steven Chu being named the State of the Union "designated survivor", APIs appear to be gaining some momentum in visible positions of leadership. We are hoping that our upcoming report on the 2012 API Board Representation on Fortune 500 Boards will show an increase in API representation at the highest levels of leadership within the Fortune 500. This report will be released at the end of February / early March, so keep an eye out for it!

We also encourage you to continue to show support and love for your community. (Even after Valentines Day!) LEAP is currently running a crowd funding campaign to raise money for community workshops. Each year we provide a number of pro bono and discounted workshops for nonprofit organizations across the country. Every donation will help us provide one more workshop for high school youth and under served API communities. The video stars our 2012 LEAP Honoree, Nguyen Dinh Thang, and LEAP President and CEO, Linda Akutagawa. Visit http://wedid.it/campaigns/77-leap-building-communities-developing-leaders to donate today!

In addition, we have several new sponsors and various leadership training opportunities for all ages. Please continue to read on for more details.

Sincerely,
LEAP Staff
