Raw-Cocoa

News From our Kitchen

Spicy Nectar Fudge is now 100% RAW!
How and why you ask?
Simple. We've started using raw cocoa powder instead of Dutch-process. The deep earthy, complex fruitiness from raw cocoa combined with that sexy "wow" of Saigon cinnamon and cayenne pepper is pretty darned sublime. We are, hands down loving it more and hope you do too! And this means we now have two 100% raw bars: Raw and Spicy. Get an your antioxidants on!
Look for these on store shelves in June

Bodies in Balance

Honey Mama's chooses alkalizing ingredients as often as we can in order to create foods that taste wildly delicious and to encourage our bodies, and our selves to thrive!

As a final note for the spring newsletter I thought it would be fun to highlight this aspect of our mission. I hope you enjoy. See you soon ~

The Alkaline/Acid Dynamic

We thrive when our blood pH is slightly alkaline, about 7.4. One simple way to begin to protect our body’s natural state of balance is to eat a diet that consists of about 75 percent alkalizing foods and 25 percent acidifying foods. Factors such as chronic stress and eating a diet high in pesticides, refined and mass produced foods can impede our ability to maintain an alkaline environment, throwing our immune system out of whack and diminishing our natural ability to self heal. Alkalizing the body fluids, or raising pH, is one of the single most important health regeneration benefits available, as disease causing microforms, fungi, bacteria, and virus, cannot survive in an alkaline and oxygenated environment. Some examples of alkaline forming foods are: most fruits and vegetables, peas, beans, lentils, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, spices, herbs, unrefined coconut oil, seasonings, sprouted nuts and seeds.
