Annie Marie & Fiddlaround is an acoustic trio that features Americana music at its best weaving an infectious blend of fiddle tunes, swamp boogie, blues, Cajun, Zydeco, latin & country. Fiddlaround features three part vocal harmonies, intricate fiddle and accordion work supported by the rock solid rhythm of stand up bass and low hat. Fiddlaround focuses on the music of Louisiana, Texas and California with Annie Marie on fiddle and vocals, Maureen Coyle on accordion and vocals and Diane Dutra on bass, low hat and vocals.

Annie Marie got together with Diane Dutra and Maureen (Mo ) Coyle years ago in their cajun zydeco band, Tee Fee Swamp Boogie. Fiddlaround is their newest project, giving them the freedom to stretch out and share the richness of American roots music. They combine Annie's funky fiddle virtuosity with Mo's Zydeco styled accordion and Dutra's rock solid bass cook up a musical gumbo that is rich, full of spice, performed with sensitivity and an earthiness that can only come from years of playing and performing. Their haunting vocal harmonies combined with Annie's soulful singing paint the picture of the heart of America, love, seduction and loss, hope and the ability to simply have a toetapping good time.

Fiddlaround recently released their self titled CD “Annie Marie and Fiddlaround.” The CD is Americana roots music at its best - an infectious blend of toe tapping tunes, seductive southern flavors & soulful blues recorded without the use of auto tune with all its nuances intact. In recording this CD, the band insisted on keeping it real, resisting using auto tune and digital effects. When you listen you will hear the music as close as possible to it's 'real' sound. Imagine you are on Fiddlaround’s front porch, with a cold drink sharing some tunes. Keeping alive the tradition of nuances in articulation and intonation has earned the recording its 'RealSing' certification.

Holding concerts in the intimate music studio space was the idea of owner and guitar teacher, J. Shelby. He wanted a place for musicians to showcase their talents where all focus is on the music, and he wanted his students to have access to hearing live music as part of their education. Previous concerts have hosted The Steve Freund Trio, Raymond Victor & Diane Dutra, Volker Strifler & Don Bassey, Cynthia Schultz, Daline Jones and Diego Ramirez and Lisa Battle & The Moving Truth Group.

Reservations are recommended for this small, intimate space. Guests are welcome to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy. 851 Music Studio will provide wine glasses and cork screws.

Annie Marie: fiddler, vocalist, songwriter & arranger

Annie Marie, from Houston, Texas, has been playing fiddle since she was nine and performing professionally since the age of twelve. She toured Europe, the U.S.A and Canada where her funky fiddle and soulful vocals made her a favorite on the Cajun Zydeco scene. She has led numerous bay area bands including the Smokin' Section, Tee Fee Swamp Boogie Blues, American Roots and Fiddlaround.

Annie has promoted American Fiddle Tunes and Blues Fiddle throughout her career continuing on the tradions of fiddlers such as Canray Fontenot, Papa John Creach, Dennis McGee & Gatemouth Brown. Musicians she toured, played and studied with include Queen Ida, Johnny Heartsman, Danny Poulard & Dewy Balfa and she collaborated with bluesman Leonard Gill (BB King, Otis Rush, Otis Clay) for twelve years in the duo American Roots. Annie is also an accomplished songwriter having published over 30 songs most of which are recorded by Tee Fee Swamp Boogie. Her awards include the West Coast Cajun Zydeco Dance Association Rising Star Award, two awards for Best Original Zydeco Song, & the Queen Ida Guillory Women in Music Award. She was also recognized by the C.F.L.F.M. for her ongoing promotion of Texas/ Louisiana Music in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Diane Dutra: bass, vocals, low boy

Diane Dutra has been playing music since she was nine, playing locally and nationally. She has toured nationally with Marty Balin of Jefferson Starship, Luther Tucker and Jimmy McCracklin. In the San Francisco bay Area, she worked with Curtis Lawson, Alvon Johnson, Red Archibald and the Internationals and, perhaps most importantly, has spent the last 12 years playing bass in The Raymond Victor Band with partner, Raymond Victor. Dutra’s versatility on stand-up acoustic bass and electric bass along with her vocal abilities make her an integral part of any performance. Her extensive background in vocal harmony allows the band the opportunity for three part harmonies. Diane plays a solid, melodic rhythm and her concept of meter creates the solid groove.

Maureen Coyle: accordion, vocals

Maureen has been performing since she was 23. She has played percussion, sung, and recorded for many San Francisco Bay Area artists. She was a key member in local avant-garde group The Bunyups, fronted several local blues bands, and has been guest vocalist with the Bertol Brothers. Maureen's dazzling vocals add excitement and depth, both in her duets with Annie and in her harmony work, and she keeps it hot with her lilting and rhythmic accordion. Maureen can also be seen performing in the SF bay area with the duo ‘Willie and Mo’.
