If you are thinking about listing your home this Spring don't overlook your closets - your potential Buyers won't! One of the top reasons for moving is outgrowing the home you're in, so they aren't going to feel much differently about yours if your basement is crowded and your closets are overflowing. Start with sorting into 3 sections - keep, donate and throw away and be sure to get the kids involved if it's their stuff you're sorting. You can make a big improvement without spending a fortune by watching your flyers and choosing multi-purpose items. Bins and baskets are very useful and as you can see in the above picture, a few inexpensive storage solutions make a big impact on the amount of space your closet appears to have. You can do it!

These are some of the findings of an Ipsos Reid poll conducted between November 4 and 7, 2013, on behalf of the Ontario Real Estate Association. For this survey, a sample of 1,517 Ontario adults from Ipsos' Canadian online panel was interviewed online. Just to clarify, Gen X are born between 1965-1980 and Gen Y between 1981-1995 so that covers a broad range of first time Buyers especially.
