Making a Difference!

We are very excited to have completed our second HUMAN INTONATION presents...An Empowerment Tee Workshop with Positive Health Project (PHP). It was our first time working hands on with the Transgender Community during the organization's "Empowerment Day" and it was an eye-opening experience. While our discussion started on the theme of "Creating positive action out of life's challenges through entrepreneurship", the ladies quickly brought the topic home to fundamental needs like access to services, education, and ending drug abuse. On the entrepreneurial front many of the ladies wanted to start their own human services agency to help others in similar situations. After an engaging discussion the participants enjoyed making their own HUMAN INTONATION Empowerment Tee!

PHP is a Harm Reduction Agency in the heart of NYC working to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. Thank you to Amu Ptah-Rojas, the Executive Director of PHP for inviting us!

2 June - Verneda White Encourages Harlem Kids to Find Their Voice

On the first Saturday of this month, Verneda White spoke at the NYC Mission Society's "It’s All About Me/Upward & Onward closing ceremony" at Minisink Townhouse in Harlem.

The event focused on the transition kids go through as they graduate elementary school and enter middle school. I have to admit the opportunities that HUMAN INTONATION has afforded me to reach young people is a privilege. The 5th graders from this program were fantastic and full of life's promises...it is inspiration to keep doing what we do. Topics of discussion throughout the program included self-esteem, respect, and empowerment!
