What’s on top of my Black Friday Shopping List?

Mushrooms are one of my pantry favorites! I am the only one in my family that likes mushrooms. I stopped buying store bought mushrooms because they would go bad before I could go through them and they would turn into a biology experiment in the refrigerator. The Thrive mushrooms come in slices and you can snap them into whatever size you want and then rehydrate them. They taste like sautéed mushrooms and I just LOVE THEM!

Butter Powder is another staple I have added to my pantry. I get so sick of all the stuff they put in our store bought dairy and meats. The butter powder is simply AMAZING! I am such a nerd when it comes to playing with the Thrive items in the kitchen. It’s easy to bake with and it makes wonderful spreads for biscuits, breads and muffins. I make a regular spread and also a honey butter spread to keep on hand for my family.

Sausage Crumbles are another one of our favorites. I add them into gravy for biscuits, cubed steak, spaghetti, stews and soups, the list is truly endless! The sausage crumbles add a nice but not too spicy zing to any recipe.

Blackberries have never been on the top of my list until I had a friend that baked me some turnovers with the rehydrated blackberries. Oh my goodness, I was sold with the first bite! Now it’s another must to keep stocked in my home store.

Neapolitan Ice Cream – who doesn’t LOVE ice cream ;) enough said, lol.

The popular Cansolidators are on sale again this year. The cansolidator pantry and pantry plus are a great way to organize the thrive pantry cans that are so wonderful to use in our daily cooking. Get the Cupboard for $16.99, the Pantry for $18.99 and the Pantry Plus for just $34.99! Remember the sale is while supplies last so order fast!!!

Doom and Bloom Hour Podcast:

Influenza, Part 3: Prevention

In this latest part of our series on influenza, we will concentrate on ways to prevent the flu. Influenza hospitalizes 200,000 U.S. citizens every year, killing 36,000.

As the person medically responsible for your people in a survival scenario, it is your duty to do everything to prevent infectious disease from running rampant among your people. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. You will have limited medical supplies and medications to combat what could affect every member of your family, including yourself. Therefore, it makes sense to do everything in your power to prevent the problem in the first place.

Influenza strikes those that are not in the best condition, so do your best to be healthy BEFORE a disaster hits. Some of the basic steps are:

Best Spinach Dip Ever!

Sp Dip

I have always loved the spinach dip I make with the Knorr vegetable soup mix. The frozen spinach was always such a pain to deal with though, so I stopped making it. I made the dip tonight with the FD Spinach and FD Green Onions and it was AMAZING! No muss, no fuss, just mix everything together, chill and ENJOY! This will be a favorite for EVERY party or snack time!
Ingredients:
1 cup Thrive FD Spinach
Sprinkle Thrive Green Onions (I just sprinkle some in for extra flavor)
16 oz Sour Cream
8 oz Mayonnaise
1 pkg of Knorr Vegetable Mix
Instructions:
Mix everything together and chill for 1 – 2 hours for the mix to set, Enjoy!
