Jeffrey L. Duerk, PhD, received his PhD in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve in 1987, following BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University and The Ohio State University, respectively. From 1986 to 1988 he was a member of the Clinical Science group of Picker International’s NMR Division (now Philips Medical Systems). Thereafter, he joined the faculty of Case Western Reserve and University Hospitals of Cleveland’s Departments of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering where today he is the director of the Case Center for Imaging Research. He is a full tenured professor in the Departments of Radiology and BME and chaired the Department of Biomedical Engineering for five years. He was also the founding leader of the cancer imaging program at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. On January 1, 2012 he became the Leonard Case Professor of Engineering and Dean of the Case School of Engineering. Dean Duerk’s presentation on the exciting progress of the Case School of Engineering and how the school is building momentum for CWRU will make for an entertaining evening.

On arrival at the Czech Museum a valet will park your car. We will congregate on the first floor of this elegant museum to enjoy a drink at the cash bar and browse the many artifacts of the Czech culture.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and will start with a fresh garden salad. The main course will be herb chicken de Provence with carrot infused butter sauce. Side dishes include wild rice pilaf and green beans almandine and dessert will be triple chocolate cake. Entrees are accompanied by hot dinner rolls, iced tea and coffee.

Vegetarian cuisine is also available. Please indicate any dietary needs in the RSVP.

Cost: $27 per person. Cash bar, free valet parking - enter from San Jacinto St.
