DOT to Pave DeKalb at Night, Wednesday

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has planned, weather permitting, to pave DeKalb Avenue, from Carlton Avenue to South Oxford Street, on Wednesday, September 4. Please note the paving, like the milling that preceded it, will take place at night.

Vehicles left on these streets when work is ready to be performed will be relocated, generally within three blocks. DOT encourages owners of relocated vehicles to first walk around the neighborhood. If owners are not able to locate their vehicle, they may telephone (718) 222-7285 to learn where it was towed to.

It is common DOT practice for milling and paving to be conducted at night on high traffic volume streets. Milling and paving is performed every few years. The trade-off for a couple nights of noise and inconvenience is smooth(er) streets. One of the purposes of these notices is to provide people with advance notice so they can, if possible, take steps to mitigate the impact.
