DREAMER LOANS

In 2013, LES People’s FCU partnered with New Economy Project to make DREAMER loans to immigrant youth in New York City who applied for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA allows qualifying young immigrants, popularly known as dreamers, to obtain work permits, social security numbers and protection from deportation.

In 2014, we will continue providing DREAMER loans and other immigrant services throughout our network which provides free DACA application assistance, referrals to affordable lawyers and no-interest DREAMER loans to cover the DACA application fee.

A Dreamer can qualify for a DREAMER loan when referred by a partner from our network. We commit to provide fair access to services to our immigrant communities by ameliorating the financial barrier that can discourage families from applying to DACA. In addition, we will continue providing services to help our Dreamers understand and begin a healthy financial and independent life. Learn more about the program here
