Small Talk: Outreach Tip of the Week
Earlier this week at a roadside rest stop, we spotted a covered drinking fountain with a handwritten sign posted that read: "Don't Drink. Water Bad."
At first I commented that I'm sure the sign doesn't meet proper public notice requirements for a transient public water supply. However, after seeing this half-sarcastic blog post from Thirsty in Suburbia, I have further thoughts.
While I would always recommend compliance with PN regulations, there is also a certain degree of common sense that is necessary when communicating with the public. It's easy to get caught up in the fine print details and lose the big picture message you're trying to communicate. In this sense, "Don't Drink. Water Bad." was perfectly stated.
Each week, we're sharing a quick tip to help you educate the public and communicate more effectively with local decision makers and customers.
