New Beginnings

The Fall semester has kicked off here at Purdue and we are finishing up the fifth week of class. RUF has had many transitions this semester but we have already seen God at work in the lives of students. We are thankful for the new group of students He has sent our way and how the returning students have reached out to them with the love of Christ. We have studied the book of Colossians and talked about issues like loneliness, meaning & purpose in life, and even thankfulness in a sad world. For all of these, we have seen that Jesus is enough to sustain us and give us hope. We also have several small groups meeting, most of which are student led. These have allowed for many conversations with students about how the Gospel makes a difference in their lives.

In fact, please take a few minutes to watch Samuel's story and Joel's story so you can hear what God is doing in and through our students at Purdue.

Family Update

By God's grace, our boxes are unpacked and our house is set up. While we have a much better idea where everything is in West Lafayette and Lafayette, we are still getting settled in. We are also preparing for our first winter in a long time. I recently had my installation service as the RUF Campus Minister. The above picture is with some of our students who came. We have also enjoyed getting to know people at our new church. We even attended our first community group (small group) this past week and look forward to developing relationships there.

On top of ministry activities, I have enjoyed playing basketball at the Purdue Rec Center and not doing yard work. Margaret has met several moms in the community and is beginning to cultivate new friendships. She's getting involved in BSF and has also enjoyed getting to know the female students in RUF and helping to connect them to each other. Anna is almost 7 months old and is growing like crazy. She has started eating solid foods, and she especially likes bananas. She is about to start crawling and still loves smiling and giggling. We are enjoying our time with her and each other.

Prayer Requests

For RUF:
1. That God would continue to send us new students and that we would show them the love of Christ.
2. That we would be a place for Christians to grow in grace and for non-Christians to hear the Gospel and to come to know Jesus.
3. That God would meet students struggling with the loneliness of college and stress of school with the hope of the Gospel.
4. That God would raise up financial partners for our ministry.

For the McDaniel family:
1. That Curtis and Margaret would grow in their love for the Lord and for each other.
2. That Anna would know and love the Lord.
3. That we would make time for each other in the midst of our busy schedules.

Thank you for your prayers and support for us. We are forever grateful!

Grace & Peace,

Curtis
