SagaciousThink Update

Hello All,

I hope 2014, Year of the Horse has gotten off to a galloping start (sorry I couldn't resist). It certainly has for us, even glued to the television watching the Olympics. I rarely watch TV, but something about the Olympics sucks me in every time, plus it brings back memories of when I was lucky enough to live with my grandmother who regaled me with stories comparing the German and the Russians and their love of beer. I have no idea where she got her opinion, but I can not look at a TV broadcast of the winter Olympics and not think of her.

After watching the Olympics I always come away inspired, because despite how easy it is to focus on what went wrong and who screwed up; there are great, compelling examples of the best of human nature.

While I never make New Year's resolutions, I did set a goal of being more productive on my conference calls, as they've been the bane of my existence. About that time, I discovered this video which just nailed everything I hate about them. As we all need a bit of humor, this short video on the challenges of conference calls really brings the pain points home.

I'd love to hear how you are doing and what you've been up to since we last connected. Here's to an incredible 2014!

Kind Regards,

International Women's Day

March 8th is International Women's Day and the theme this year is "Inspiring Change" This day of recognition has been an annual event since 1911 and a look at the themes has been interesting and inspiring. What are you doing to celebrate?

Some events in the Bay Area recognizing this special day include:

On March 8th there's an all day event that focuses on Women as Catalysts for Change. Its a fundraiser in support of samasource.

On March 13th - as we wanted to continue the conversation and will have a networking event of global women entrepreneurs (and anyone interested in participating in the conversation) The event will be in San Francisco at the Atelier Emmanuel. It is co-hosted by several international business focused organizations such as the California Spain Chamber of Commerce (full disclosure, LouAnn is on the board), FACC, BABC, Bay Brazil and many more great global organizations. We want to share resources, idea and support. The last event we had sold out and was awesome, we had great personal stories such as, "How do you fundraise if you are 8 months pregnant?" - Not easily. The conversation was frank and powerful.

With that, have a great day!
