Hello and welcome to all my new subscribers. I appreciate your interest and support.

Autumn is well entrenched here at the Brook. The leaves started turning a few weeks ago, painting the countryside with vibrant gold , copper and bronze. The hens have moved to their winter quarters. Two and four-legged creatures are donning warm woolly coats. We inhale deeply the unique scent of waning summer and approaching winter. A busy time for us on the farm as we prepare for the long winter ahead.

Studio Highlights

As always I have been running madly off in all directions. Here are a few of the high points:

▪ My necklace "Mountain Sketch" was accepted into North Bay's Art in the Park juried show. Awarded an Honourable Mention, it was on display at Art in the Park over the August long weekend. It then was on display with the other winners at North Bay City Hall. It was the only jewellery entered, which made the honor all the more special.
▪ Shipping jewellery to Singapore and Denmark. My online shop has allowed me to share my work with the world. I have sold to people from around the world, but these two destinations are a first. I am amazed and grateful that people from so far away are able to see and fall in love with the things I create.
▪ I was recently written up in our weekly local paper. Beautifully written, the article gives a little glimpse behind the scenes at Wabi Brook Studio.
▪ Custom work, both portrait and jewellery, has kept me busy this year. Wedding jewellery commissions are increasing as more people are exploring handcrafted, non-traditional jewellery to better express their love for each other. My available slots for portrait and Jewellery commissions are nearly full, so contact me right away if this is something you've been thinking about. If the commission is a gift, Gift Certificates are a good alternative. They are available in any amount, and the recipient can have an active role in creating their custom piece of art or jewellery.

Upcoming Shows

▪ November 4 from noon to 5 p.m. The Annual Christmas Bazaar and Showcase at the Coleman Township Hall. Presented by the Pet Refuge and Transitional Home. All vendor fees go to helping this worthwhile cause. This is my first time attending this show, and I am looking forward to meeting new friends.

*November 23 from 2 to 8 p.m. and 24th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. -The Annual Riverside Farmers' Market Christmas Show at Riverside Place in New Liskeard. As always I will be showcasing my art and jewellery. The show should be bigger and better than ever, making it the perfect opportunity to support local artistans while shopping for your holiday baking and gifts. Hope to see you there!
* December 1 - Trunk Show and "Meet the Artist" at The Match Factory on Armstrong Street in New Liskeard. Come out and chat with me while you browse around this eclectic and busy little shop!

A few more shows are yet to be confirmed. I will let you know if they are a go.
