A Personal Message...
Last year in an effort to recognize incredible charities and non-profits, Brian and I added a category to our website - Give the Gift of Life. A percentage of purchases from this category go toward assisting worthy causes. Each month JAVA & Co. chooses a charity. The goal is to raise money to help their specific needs. Our hope is that our customers will identify with at least one of our charities and help us make a difference.
Brian and I own JAVA & Co. and therefore are taking the opportunity to share with you this heartfelt mission. This is very personal. My sister and her family (husband, three kids and two little dogs) are seeking to adopt Porter, a young orphan boy from another country who desperately needs to be freed from his circumstances. There are many details that cannot be disclosed, but his need is great and with God's help and ability to open doors, Porter will find his way into my sister's family home - sooner rather than later.
In these economic times, many of us do not have the extra funds it takes to help charitable causes. Sometimes...just the awareness ...spreading the word and sharing the need is more than enough.

Biscotti in the making...I've been in the kitchen baking and having fun with recipes. The result? A star anise and fennel biscotti that flies off the table at the local outdoor markets. I'm thinking this fresh recipe is a keeper and needs to be added to the website!
