Hi there! This week, the super-d-duper WordPress SEO plugin was updated (announcement here and make sure you update it in your Dashboard!). Facebook changed the look of Pages (ah, no more tabs!). Also, where were these when my kids were little? And oh my goodness, I'm lovin' the new Ambiance Pro theme* from Studiopress. Then again, I am a theme junkie you know.

1. Is the posting of your affiliate links legal?

If you use affiliate marketing to make money, always read the terms of service for each program to make sure you have permission to post those links where you're posting them! For example, recently I've been seeing people use their Amazon Associates links in email newsletters. But did you know you can't "send them in e-mails/newsletters, post in your Kindle books, or use them in any other offline manner"? Eek! Another example is, I can't put my Mad Mimi referral link in my useletter. That's why, whenever I promote Mad Mimi (oh how I love her), I always link to a post instead.

2. How to find trending hashtags on Instagram

I don't agree with all her tips (and I'm not a fan of the language), but the Talkin' Texan offered several ideas in her post How I Gained 8000 Instagram Followers in 4 Hours. One of the things I did like was the suggestion to use the tool Webstagram to find the "hot" hashtags to attach to your images so they'll be seen by more people. Using trending ("hot") hashtags in relevant ways is a win!

3. How to rebrand: a checklist

I've had several people ask me recently if I've written about rebranding. I've written about merging Facebook pages, but Tsh from The Art of Simple (formerly Simple Mom) posted her own rebranding checklist on her personal blog. It's a helpful resource if you have plans to rebrand.

4. Find a photo, sell a photo

When it comes to taking photos, I'm lame. That's why Snapwire (in beta) is intriguing. Need a photo for a post or project? Submit a request, name a price and photographers provide photos to choose from. For you photographers, I've already mentioned a legit way you can make money selling your photos (see #5) but this might be another option to add to the list.

5. In case you missed it...

I continued my series about blog traffic with How to Get More Blog Traffic, Part 3 so check it out! Lastly, don't want to spend the money on Genesis? I get that. Elegant Themes is a great alternative, but this is your last chance to get in cheap.
