EARLY AUTUMN, 2013
We love autumn in New England. The colors of the leaves change to orange, red, and yellow, and our farmers' markets change their weekly offerings to crisp red apples, bright orange pumpkins, and yellow-fleshed squash.
To celebrate the season, we've created a few new recipes that we hope will hit the spot with you and your families. We're also adding new seasonal recipes to our Meal Makeovers app ($1.99 on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch) ... so be sure to check them out!
Here's what's cooking in The Meal Makeover Moms' Kitchen
Autumn Apple Quinoa Salad: Made with quinoa, walnuts, dried cranberries, and crisp, local apples, our gluten-free side dish is perfect with dinners or stuffed into lunch boxes.
Southwest Corn, Rice & Bean Casserole: Once the weather cools off, we start to crave casseroles. This easy, weeknight vegetarian dish is made with Del Monte's new lineup of seasoned vegetables. It's so delicious, it's guaranteed to entice the whole family.
Chewy Date Bites: Believe it or not, this dessert is so simple, it requires no baking at all. Made with dates, walnuts, and cocoa powder, these chewy treats are ideal for snacks, dessert, or a pre-sport pick-me-up.
Asian Salmon Sticks: This recipe is a makeover of traditional fish sticks. Made with salmon, a panko bread crumb coating, and Asian seasonings, your kids will be hooked on seafood after one bite!
