Summer Hikes

School is out and many of you will be travelling in July and August. You can still join us to enjoy the warmer weather and do some great hikes and family activities. Sign up on the calendar www.fraicheair.ch. Registered participants will get an email with activity details and carpool/meeting point and time.

▪ Sat 6 July - Family Hike & Swim, Grand Paradis (CH)
A fun multi-activity day in the beautiful Val d’Illiez valley. We start with a hike to a waterfall in Grand Paradis, then an exciting gorge trail. We finish with a swim in the beautiful open air pool or head to the hotsprings, both with views of the Dents du Midi.
▪ Sat 20 July - Hike - Rochers de Naye (CH)
The prominent rocks of Rochers-de-Naye above Montreux constitute one of the most beautiful vantage points in the region. Panoramic views across Lake Geneva and the surrounding Alps.
▪ Sun 25 August - Family Hike & Chocolate Factory - Gruyeres (CH)
Put it in your calendar! An adventurous family hike from the charming village of Charmey, past Lac de Montsalvens, then through a spectacular gorge with wooden bridges and rock galleries. Top it off with a visit to the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory.

17 May - Powerwalk, Crans-pres-Celigny (CH)

Great powerwalk along part of the pilgrimage route ‘via jacobi‘ past historical chateaus and a church with a view. Did you know Richard Burton and Alistair Maclean are buried here? Thank you Carrol and Malin for leading this one!

26 May - Family Day Hike, Lavaux (CH)

Did you know...monks planted the first vines in 1392 in the Lavaux area? We were lucky again with sun for our picnic and wine-tasting on Cyril's panoramic terrace. Fabulous hike along the lake and in the vineyards, great hikers of all ages..

31 May - Hike, Samoens (FR)

A wonderful bunch of enthusiasts headed out to the wild valleys above Samoens. Beautiful cascades and rivers all along the trail. Serge spotted 7 ibex on the hill just below the snowline! Magic day again...

9 June - Family Day, Rafting (FR)

Super fun day - 21 of us in 3 expertly guided rafts braved the mighty Dranse river in the sun! We paddled like mad, jumped off rocks, and swam through rapids. Let's do that again soon!

7 June - Hike, Chamonix (FR)

Perfect sunny day for the Mont Blanc to show itself in all its glory. With the late snow we adapted our hike up the other side of the Glacier des Bossons to the Chalet de Cerro. Then on to see the cute buvette and waterfalls at the Cascade du Dard. Perfect day!

11 June - Powerwalk, Luins & Bursins (CH)

Thoroughly enjoyed the sun for our powerwalk today on the Sentier de Chataignes. Great views of the beautiful chateaux, vineyards, churches and villages. We'll be back to taste some wine!

19 June - Powerwalk, Mont Mussy (FR)

Beautiful summery day for a hike in the shade of the forest. Delicious farm lunch and farewell to dear members moving on this summer.
