2014 rolled in with enticing opportunities and new projects that will be unfolding throughout the year.
spotlight
I am over the moon to have Finding the Fire, my solo exhibit at 108 Contemporary in Tulsa, reviewed in the Winter 2014 Surface Design Journal, an international art publication dedicated to the “creative exploration of fiber & fabric”.
It was reviewed by Barbara Shapiro, renowned artist and weaver. Thank you Barbara for the thoughtful insights.
I met Barbara during my residency at 108 Contemporary last summer. She was invited to jury FiberWorks, Oklahoma’s longest running annual juried fiber exhibition, which was hosted by the Hardesty Arts Center in Tulsa last summer.
Memory Ring
Find out more about my residency project, Memory Ring and see process images of cutting, dyeing, stitching, and constructing this 10 foot high installation which confronts issues about land management, fire, and drought in the cross timber and central plains ecosystems.
in support
Last week I was awarded a Creative Projects Grant from Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition to develop new work for my solo exhibit at Oklahoma City University in August 2014. Thank you OVAC for your continuing support of Oklahoma Artists.

After months of planning and material studies and ambitious installations on the horizon, I am starting new work, getting my hands really dirty... and sticky... and blue... doesn’t get much better than that.
