April is National Financial Literacy Month
JCSU provides access to financial literacy information everyday through CashCourse.Org. Register and get access to information and resources to help you understand how to best manage your money. For those about to graduate, Cash Course resources are for you as well. There is information, videos, and worksheets applicable to life during and after college. Go to the JCSU website, click on “Money Matters”, click on Cash Course to register and up your financial literacy game. During the month of April look for Money Matter$ tips on social media and announcements about activities.

Miss Ebony’s School of Etiquette is proud to present Diva Day Camp for Girls ages 10 – 14 on the campus of JCSU for Summer 2014. Girls learn how to shine in this 9-week summer program exclusively for them! They will explore topics including entrepreneurship, goal-setting, etiquette, the creative arts, and more! Each week has a theme and takes them on an adventure!

EMPOWER U Saving Money & Successful Budgeting, Rotunda
In this class, you will learn how to create a budgeting process that will work for you and get you on track to meet your own personal financial goals. You will learn how to save; no matter your income level, amount of debt or fear of the process. Facilitated by Joel Dancy, Demetrius Townes, Sonja Hunter and Tonya Bruce from 5/3 Bank. The Block 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Project Life Movement is a campus-based national marrow donor organization dedicated to finding and enlisting individuals as potential donors for bone marrow and tissue transplants.

The 2014 NASCAR Pit Crew Member Development Combine Thursday, April 10 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Brayboy gymnasium. This event seeks to identify top tier, minority and female athletes, and other qualified candidates to train and develop for careers as crew members in stock car racing. Visitors will learn about key historical facts and pioneers, like Dr. Emery Rann and Dr. Reginald Hawkins both alumni of Johnson C. Smith University that influenced the decisions to ensure quality healthcare for African Americans. Exhibit opens at JCSU February 26-April 30. A community-wide event will be hosted on April 13 from 4 PM-6 PM in the James B. Duke Memorial Library to kick-off National Library Week. Reservation is required. Every year around tax time, do you stop to think about your future and what you need to do to empower yourself towards that dream. Retirement planning should be an integral piece of that process.
