We killed it this year! I knew things were off to a good start when we grabbed a last minute flight to NYC to celebrate the 'holidaze' that had just passed. Better late than never… A 16 hour girl party in Manhattan. Hmm… that was fun. And I met Oprah at her leadership school for girls in South Africa just days prior! Pinch me.

Next came the press and events that knocked our socks off. Two magazine features in the spring, a spring fete and benefit with Design Bureau, a cover and anniversary celebration in the summer, two MORE features in the fall, and two DIFFA events this season. Seriously, pinch me.

As I write and reflect on what 2012 threw our way, I'm all smiles. It almost makes me want to do something crazy like wear PINK to our holiday party next week!

A LOT has happened over the years, 2012 being one of the biggest leaps ever. With la ladies on board to help tame the beast, we're pushing on; Amanda, Jennifer, Lourdes, Lauren and our beloved 'lil sis' Marissa. She gets to hear about eye cream all day long… bless her. Throw in some serious passion for design, love for each other and humanity in general, lots of laughs, solid work tactics and hardcore talent and this is what you get. The PROjECT. posse! I'm feeling inspired, ready to recharge and reflect while in Africa this holiday, and elated to see where 2013 takes us.

To you, thanks a million. Your friendship, projects, referrals, support, insight and love has played a larger than life role in the culture and work we've created and has certainly expanded our horizons. I love being a part of 'WE'. Now THIS feels right :)

It's with my deepest gratitude that we kiss this year bye-bye. Now let's get to steppin'…

xoxo. aimee

Chairs for Charity + the furry leather bound monster chair we named 'PALERMO'

We were thrilled to take part in two DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) events this year, allowing us to combine our two passions: paying it forward + turning it out.

In November Chicago Home and Garden sponsored their third annual Chairs for Charity event, asking Chicago designers to re purpose + re design chairs to be auctioned off. Creativity was in the air the night of the auction as hopefuls made silent bids on each one-of-a-kind piece. Here's the happy owner of our chair. So glad it found a home that welcomes leather, gold, fur + chains and loves em as much as we do.

DIFFA's Dining by Design 2012

Inspiration precipitation. That's what we like to call the hundreds of uplifting messages that hung from the draped + stitched gold ceiling in our installation at DIFFA's Dining by Design 2012.

As with any install, it took some fierce teamwork pulling together our space. A few of our favorite moments: custom lucite chairs, repurposed tire tables from the Find, layers of Edelman hides, Felicia Ferrone vessels, our beta fish Norman and of course a large pair of gold + silver scissors, welcoming any passerby to snip + take a piece of inspiration for the road. Driven by the element of expereience, we loved sharing our installation with our peeps all weekend long. Click here for more pics from the night!

The Hinsdale casa of our client + dear friend Lisa Hutcherson has been getting an extra bit of love this year. From the cover + editorial in interiors magazine to her bedroom being named Best Bedroom 2012 by CS interiors [yes, that is HER side of the bed in the mag!]. And now her kitchen + "mom cave" being featured in Chicago Home and Garden... just to name a few.

But even more special, is the face behind the place. As the Community Outreach Director at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, Lisa Hutcherson is currently dedicating her heart + soul to the new Adventist Cancer Institute, now under construction in Hinsdale. The new project will encompass radiology, oncology, hematology, allowing patients to receive treatment under one roof.

This past fall Lisa put together the benefit titled Calling all Fabulous Fashionistas: Rev it up to Combat Cancer. The fashion focused fundraiser was a huge success, making us extra proud. With PROjECT.'s philanthropic work, the Hutcherson family has always been there to support + we were so happy to reciprocate to such an important cause.
