European jazz trio Phronesis's charismatic live performances have prompted Jazzwise magazine to describe them as 'One of the most exciting bands on the planet today'.
In early 2013 the trio will tour in Australia before heading back to Europe for a series of special performances featuring brand new material to be recorded later this year, alongside music from acclaimed 2012 release Walking Dark.
Formed by Danish bass player Jasper Høiby in 2005, with British pianist Ivo Neame and Swedish drummer Anton Eger, Phronesis were nominated in 2010 for 'Best Jazz Ensemble' in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and 'Best Jazz Act' at the MOBO Awards, and their third album Alive was voted 'Jazz Album of the Year' by both MOJO and Jazzwise magazines. They have since taken their depth-charge bass grooves, lyrical melodies and dramatic interplay to major jazz festivals across the world.
