Many of you are aware that S.T.A.R. Foundation celebrated its 10-year anniversary by paying tribute to ten extraordinary women on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

That moment was such an emotional, empowering, uplifting, moving and inspiring time (need I add more adjectives, lol), until we've decided to honor 10 extraordinary women every year!
We honor women who have dedicated their time with a commitment to community and service. While our main focus will always remain to the dedication of women and girl empowerment, we understand and recognize that there are many more noteworthy efforts that are orchestrated by women as well.
We need your help in identifying true "women of power"! From now through August 30, 2013 (5:00 pm EST), we will accept nominations for S.T.A.R. Foundation's "Women of Power" Awards 2014 to be held in Detroit, MI (location: TBD). We will narrow the selection down to 20, and then we will ask for your help again in identifying the top 10 of that list:
