In my early years in Uganda, one of the many things I taught in my Community Health Worker classes was how to deliver a baby that was not in the proper head-down position. Several years later, the story came to me of a Christian family in a village where I had taught, that with no midwife, had delivered a breech baby at home, based upon my teachings. Three of them had been in my classes, so when the wife of one was pregnant they practiced what they had learned. In determining the position of the baby when the mother was in labor, they realized that it was in breech position. So the sister-in-law of the pregnant mother began to slowly rotate the baby as I had taught in the class. But they added one thing. They prayed. The lady would rotate the baby a bit, hold it in place, and the family would pray. Then she would rotate it a bit further, hold it, and the family would pray again. When she got the baby turned completely around, head-down, it slipped right out, born without a problem.
