DECEMBER, 2012
This month, it's raining cookies over at the Meal Makeover Moms' Kitchen! Holiday goodies are everywhere, so we spent some time giving a few of our favorite treats a healthy makeover. Read on for our newest recipes, our latest news, and a baker's giveaway you won't want to miss!
Holiday Gift Idea: Christmas is two weeks away, but it's not too late to buy that special someone a copy of our family-pleasing cookbook, No Whine with Dinner. We're offering the book at a discount if you order from our website --- 30% off single copies and 40% off cases of 10 --- and the shipping is free if you use the code, FS2011 (U.S. only). Send us an email if you'd like us to personalize your copy!
Recipe Index NEW on Meal Makeover Moms: We're thrilled to announce our brand new Recipe Index. On it, you'll find categories like Desserts, Casseroles, Avocados, Breakfast, and lots more, making it easier than ever to find just the recipe you're looking for. Visit our website and check it out!
Cookie Swap Madness: If you're heading to a cookie swap this holiday season, give our Monster Cookie Makeover recipe a try. We just sent freshly-baked batches of these cookies to three fellow bloggers as part of The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, and boy, were they happy.
Speaking of Holiday Treats ... Our blog is bursting with more better-for-you goodies this month. Try our Almond-Apricot Snowballs and Mini Peppermint Cupcakes. Oh my!!
A Sensational Side Dish: Liz blogged about her annual BFF holiday dinner and the spectacular Eggplant with Buttermilk Sauce she prepared for the feast. The eggplant is baked and then topped with a buttermilk sauce and gorgeous pomegranate seeds. It's the perfect addition to a holiday table.
Hanukkah Latkes: As promised in our last newsletter, Liz created a new latke recipe. Last year, she made them with sweet potatoes. This year, she cooked up a batch of Potato Carrot Latkes!
Figuring Out Facebook: Just a reminder that Facebook now wants us (and plenty of other folks) to pay for our posts to appear in the news feeds of our fans. (Right now, only 10% of our fans see what we share.) We're a small business, so unfortunately, that's not an option for us. If you'd like to continue seeing our regular updates, all you have to do is visit our Facebook fan page, hover your mouse over the "Liked" button located near the top of the page and make sure "Get Notifications" and "Show in News Feed" are checked.
We wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season. We'll be back with more Meal Makeover Mom recipes and foodie adventures in 2013!!
