Message from Susy

This is the last newsletter for 2014 so I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support this year. To the many collaborators and co-ordinators that have volunteered over the years to put together the programs and activities that make our events; the hundreds of volunteers that dedicate their time to help us to make sure things go smoothly. The sponsors because without them we could not do any of these things. The exhibitors for being part of the ethical movement and for their belief in creating positive social and environmental outcomes via their businesses practices.

Moral Fairground was established in 2009 to promote fair and ethical trade, our team is predominantly made up of volunteers and our vision is to grow the ethical movement because we believe that the power of change lies in people like me and you, through collaborations, partnership and sharing of knowledge.

So what did this bunch of collaborators and volunteers achieve for 2014. We had a busy year, starting off with the May events, Victorian Fair Trade Festival, the Fair Trade Event Trail, the Made In Exhibition, the Fair Trade Mothers' Day High Tea, the Ethical Fashion Show and the Fair Trade Yoga, everything has been captured here.
In November we ran our first Ethical Enterprise Conference and the second Ethical Enterprise Award. Our first conference attracted 70 guests and we had a superb line of inspirational speakers. Sixty enterprises entered the award this year and Seven Women was announced as the winner.
In December we ran our last event, Fair@Square and whilst this year, we were rained under, we still managed to deliver our programs as planned. From the amazing Ethical Fashion show, the Design for Good Exhibition, the Cooking Shows, the Speaking Tent, the Live Entertainment on the main stage, the Kids activity program and the free screening of “Who Cares” and docos.

So whilst we are definitively in need of rest, we are also excited about what we can do in the future and look forward to working with all of you to continue to grow the ethical movement, to share good stories, to build awareness, to celebrate the successes and to support your vision.

Enjoy the rest of the newsletter, but most of all enjoy time with family and friends during this Festive Season.
Enjoy the rest of the newsletter
