International Guest Lecture: Child Liberty - bringing fair trade to Liberia

RMIT Social Enterprise Group Event
3rd May 2013
FREE
For booking click here
Liberian-born Chid escaped the war-torn country with his parents as a child and settled in America. The country of his birth never lost its hold on him however, and as a successful adult he returned to contribute to the creation of positive change.
The social enterprise he co-founded, Liberty and Justice, now assists disenfranchised women in attaining economic independence.
The RMIT Social Enterprise Group is delighted to provide this opportunity to meet Chid and hear his story, told with candour and passion, of the challenges and strategies needed to set up a Fair Trade enterprise assisting women in a staunchly patriarchal, conflict- ridden country.
