Breaking New Ground
I am pleased to share with you the news that the special issue of the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research "Breaking New Ground" for which I served as guest editor has been published and is now available in the member area on the EMDRIA web site. You will find a listing of the articles and abstracts in the EMDR Research News for September 2013.
2013 EMDRIA Conference in Austin Texas
Wednesday I leave for the EMDRIA Conference in Austin Texas: "EMDR: Where Science & Research Meet Practice". There are many wonderful presentations this year. You can find the EMDRIA conference schedule online.
The Saturday morning plenary will be from Vincent Felitti, M.D. on the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study. After Dr. Felitti's presentation I wish I could be in two places at once so I could attend Dolores Mosquera's presentation on "Understanding and Treating Narcissistic Personality Disorder with EMDR" at the same time that I will be presenting "Recognizing and working with affect phobias in EMDR – in client and clinician." Saturday afternoon it is a simpler choice as I will be presenting with Dolores Mosquera on “Frequent Problems using EMDR in the spectrum from novice to experienced EMDR clinicians.” We will be showing many short videos in this second presentation.
I am especially looking forward to the Sunday plenary by Robert Stickgold, Ph.D. on "The Science of EMDR: An Update on Current Theories Regarding Mechanisms of EMDR."
I hope to see many of you at the EMDRIA Conference again this year.
Look for a report with conference highlights in the October news.
