Projects

Portslade Project Completed

We have completed the demolition of a redundant factory building at Portslade.

85 Mile Oak Road was bounded on three sides by homes and had a private access road running right alongside it.

The narrow access meant that we had to use our Liebherr 900 excavator and could only just get lorries to the job.

After a strip of non – notifiable asbestos the building was largely dismantled by hand from access platforms.

Certainly challenging conditions but we were pleased to be able to complete the job a few days earlier than planned.

Covidien, 154 Fareham Road, Gosport

Following the near completion of the demolition site Covidien, 154 Fareham Road in Gosport, we received a letter from Mr & Mrs K R Longley praising our discreet demolition services and helpful staff. Demolition & Salvage always try to work in harmony with the local community when completing demolition projects and it’s nice to know that our efforts have been noted.

“We are writing to give praise to your company for the way and manner in which you have carried out the Demolition of 154 Fareham Road.

We are the closest neighbouring property to this demolition undertaking by your company. It was obvious that due to the massive scale of the demolition on this site we would have concerns for ourselves as to how much we would be affected throughout its duration.

However, as it turned out concerns and complaints were much fewer than we had feared and any issues that did happen were dealt with by your site manager Mr David White in a professional, friendly and satisfactory way thus making the affects from the demolition as minimal as humanly possible.

The nature of your work must make it extremely difficult to please everybody and at times various situations will occur but with the work force you have and the manner and efficiency of your site manager we can only express our gratitude.”

Thank you Mr & Mrs Longley and Happy New Year!

Lower Brookfield Road

Another challenging project is now nearing completion. Several old two storey buildings occupied 100 % of the site area with public roads on two sides and gardens on the others.

Portsmouth based Super Scaffolding kept the neighbouring gardens protected with the roadside elevations demolished by hand from an access platform.

The site had been disused for many years and is being taken out of commercial use for a residential development.
